One of the glaring misconceptions about O and O27 trains is that they are too big for small living spaces. Many would like a layout, but think they cannot do it on anything less than a 4' by 8' surface. We have already shown in another section of this site, that a 4' by 6' is possible with the majority of O Gauge track systems. Our Doorway layouts have shown that most O track systems can accommodate an area less than 7' long and from 32 inches to 3 ' wide.
That is not good enough, so we went to work again, The results were in two styles. One result was the 3' by 5' area, the other a smaller space. Our goal in every case was to make a layout that was interesting to run. Our plans had to provide for a railway that has possibilities for intriguing rail operations. We hope you like our results.
