Here is an HO version of the popular Lionel "Gold Bullion" car. They are popular among toy train collectors, and there is no real-world prototype. |
The openings on this stock car were for a bobbing sheriff and outlaw. Again, this car was purely toy. It is an HO version of a popular O gauge animated car. |
This looks like a decent model of a gondola. |
The authentic appearance might pass with most, but a hard-line modeler would screech if he saw "Built by Lionel". There it is - a popular facet of toy trains that makes rivet counters shudder! |
These cars by various makers were usually packed into cheaper sets. They are crude, insofar as detail, and the authenticity of paint schemes is questionable. Scale model? Not really! These are as much as toy as any O27 animated operating car! |
