Holiday Display Layout, Part II

Here are a few more pictures of our Holiday Layout, showing some details. You can have a lot of fun with this project. It makes for a nice display item or gift.

Remember to contour land randomly, for a degree of realism. Our raised area outside tunnel is shaped like a small hill.

Yes, the track looks like it is on a cliff. That is part of the toylike effect.

Here is the road sloping down from the town.

The town itself - note street, RR crossing and cars

Spackle on windowsills makes it look snowy. You can just about see the people on the street. Small details like fences and cars help without losing the toylike Holiday effect.

Snow removal proceeds just outside the bridge opening. Our finished project looks pleasant. This particular item was given to my father-in-law.
