The Golden Creek Work Train is a curious little set. It is a typical battery-operated set made in China, and it looks to be based on a European style narrow-gauge train used in mining or logging work. The coal elevator is actually a chute. Drop in the round "lumps of or" on top and it rolls out from the side, hopefully into the ore car. A cute toy, though it is cheap and not the kind of thing that lasts more than a few weeks. The cars would be useful for an O gauge railway, as scenery for a mine. Not a bad little set for ten bucks!

Here is the train, complete wit ha small coal elevator. (Frog and house in background are table decorations, not part of the set) |
The locomotive looks to be based on a European narrow-gauge type. In scale, it is close to O Gauge. |

Another look at the small tender. |
Rear of locomotive. To open the battery box, you must unscrew the back panel. |
Here are the crane car and low-side car. The design of the low-side car is similar to the German flat car (with containers) in our TT Scale Section. |

Straight track. The gauge of the track is O. |
