Scott Smith is one of our friends from the OGR forum. Recently, he shared a track plan he devised for his daughter. It was made using MTH Realtrax and was intended to be portable. It should be able to be rolled under a bed.
I got one look at that fine little track plan and set myself to work. Look at the basic plan. It allows for plenty of action. All I did was add scenery and come up with a few variants. Scott did the real planning by devising one excellent little track plan.
The basic plan. Here I have given it a small urban scene. 3D images to the right show how it might look with this scenery.
The plan itself allows for continuous running and a simple two-train operation. |

The same superb plan, done in a rural theme with a farm at the center. Again, 3D images illustrate how the finished layout might look with this scenery. |

Just for fun, I added a long spur at the top and a lionel barrel loader. 3D to the right shows how it might look. |
|
Here is a spur from the left, with the Seaboard Coaler coal crane. 3D to the right shows how it might look. |
|
Finally, two spurs. One has the Coaler, the other has an MTH operating freight platform. The3D to the right illustrates how it might look. |

Our thanks to Scott Smith for sharing his track plan. |
