This railway was the work of Gary's wife, Dawn. It features vintage cardboard houses that were sold in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s as holiday ornaments. Also displayed are old figurines and decorations, including the old plastic reindeers and characters. Never one to remain entirely in the past, it also hosts a modern skating scene.
The train is a vintage Marx train from Gary's child hood. An old #400 0-40-0 steal locomotive hauls a tender, brightly-decorated tin boxcar and shiny tin caboose.
Little 0-4-0 by Marx comes around the bend on this unique railway featuring cardboard buildings and decorations from the 1940s and 1950s. |
A modern skating rink is surrounded by vintage decorations. Note reindeer opening fence. |
The train: brightly-colored tinplate blends well with decorative scenery. |
