Expanding an HO Railway

We take two of our Layouts and expand them to giant size!

Just for fun ,.we took two of our 4' by 6' layouts using 15" curves and tried to expand them.  Here are the results.  They are very large layouts that offer you plenty of trackage.

Layout 4+: We have expanded the layout space two feet to either side, and adding a 4' by 4' extension on the left side. The fourth of our smaller layouts is expanded from the spurs, still using 15" curves. We make a freight yard to the right.  To the left we have added  a loop and a couple of cut-offs.

A yard is added inside the upper left, while a long spur extends to the lower left.

If you want even more sidings for a yard, add switches along the spur.

Layout 2+" we have expanded two feet to the right, and added a 4 ' by 4' extension to the right top.  We use the sidings to extend to a loop with a passing siding and freight spurs.

On the very right, we add more switches to make a complex freight yard.  If you like switching operations, this one's for you.
