Continuous running with switching
This 3' by 6' Layout uses 9 3/4 curves and #4 switches. It expands int a busy system with three loops on which trains can run independently, plus spurs and switching. You can have a lot of fun with continuous running and switching work.
This loop is made of 9 3/4" curves |
A pair of switches leads to a passing siding inside the oval. |
More switches make us a passing track outside the oval's left end |
Here we extend from the top to right, a double-tracked loop ending in a siding |
The siding extended into a loop that continues over the top of the ovals |
The loop is connected to the inside ovals, and sidings are added. |
You can run the left track through a mountain, adding visual effect. This layout offers a mix of continuous running and switching. |
