Three-Track System for short operations
This 3' by 6' layout starts with 11" curves, and adds first an independent line with an arc of 9 3/4" and finishes with another independent line with 11' and 19" curves. The end result is a nice single-track main system and two shorter independent ones. These independents would be fine as mining or logging roads. The one that bisects the main line would also be a nice commuter or trolley railway. You can have a LOT of fun with scenery here.
This part uses 11" curves, making a simple point-to-point railway terminating in sidings |
We add a second line, using a 90 degree crossover. Inside the upper left loop, we are using 9 3/4 track. This could be a trolley line, other transit or mining railway |
Outside we add a separate line. From its top right to the center, 19" track has been used. It can be mining, short line or trolley / transit. |
We envisioned a mountain at the right side, with mining at the center. The third line's spur would enter the mine. |
