The Metro North station is about 450 yards west of the old Erie Station. The "station" is little more than a big bus shelter. Behind it is the Port Jervis yard, its tracks host to coaches by Bombardier and Budd. Behind THAT is the old steam facility. The turntable has been pretty much restored, but the old water tanks and steam rack lay dormant, worn by time and neglect.
A few times a year, an old C&O steam locomotive makes the run from Hoboken and back. Port Jervis gets inundated with hundreds of hooples who paid $65 to $250 for a train ride that usually costs a flat thirteen simoleons. They flock to the vestigial steam facilities. It's the funniest thing you'd want to see!
