Hoboken's

LACKAWANNA TERMINAL

One of the oldest railroad terminal's in use today, Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken, NJ, is now the starting point for New Jersey Transit. The station has been undergoing restoration. Currently, the waiting room is due for repairs. I have been going to this station since I was a small child. My first journeys were on the old Lackawanna Railroad's Phoebe Snow to Scranton, PA, and the Erie Railroad's local to Port Jervis, NY. In those days, the locomotives were a stunning grey with maroon and gold trim (pictured in our Locomotive Shop). Today, the silver engines of NJ Transit and the blue & silver locomotives of Metro North call Lackawanna Terminal home.
