The "Piggy bank" of old was very popular, so that toy banks of many types are common. Needless to say, trains make a fine subject for a coin bank. Here are a few examples.
This metal bank was sold under the Lionel name. Press the fans on top, and it makes various sounds: ringing bell, diesel horn, conductor yelling All Aboard...and it also plays a few lines of "Chattanooga Choo-choo." Whenever it sounds, it lights up. |
This porcelain bank, also sold under the Lionel name, bears the number of a popular Lionel toy locomotive. Lionel licenses the name to various makers of collectibles. |
