Little Garden Railways

Track Plans for 6' by 8" and smaller Large Scale & Garden Railways

These plans were initially drawn up as 2' by 3' N Scale plans.  They were so well-received that I tried to upscale them to 4' by 6' for HO.  Due to the different track geometry, this was not an easy task, but it was fun.  For added challenge, I opted to render them even larger for Garden Railroading and for those who would like to run the Big Trains indoors.  Setting one up as a temporary floor layout was fun, as it clearly illustrated that such small pikes are practical.  Not only that - they can also be fun-filled play railways for children.

Of course, these diminutive Garden Railways, whether done indoors or out, place limitations on the equipment you can run.  Very short, narrow gauge style cars, critters and locomotives are the order of the day. If you love the quaint, small Narrow Gauge equipment, you will find these little railways a charm.  Equally exciting is that these railways can be fit into smaller spaces, or can be used as "expansion modules" for existing railways.
