FREE Downloadable Stations, Depots and Lineside Buildings!

You get enough for an entire miniature railroad!

The free downloads on this page will make enough railroad buildings for a complete miniature railway.  They are designed and copyrighted by....me!  Yes, I am proud to say that I drew tham all. The original paper kits (listed in our Town & Village section) were a way to provide cat-resistant miniature buildings for the village under the Yule tree.  If Kitty smashes one, just print up and assemble a replacement!  We, once I started, I stayed up `til 3 a.m. making the first 20 buildings.  The project snowballed into quite an assortment. Though the other sets include a small station, it was time to provide a more complete set of railroad structures.  Here it is!

This set includes more than 20 different structures.  They are so detailed that we had to split them into two files.  Just size them to fit your scale (we judge by the door - 1/2 inch to 9/16 for N, about 5/8 to 3/4 for TT (technically, 6.6 to 7.5 tenths of an inch),  3/4 to 7/8 for HO, about 1 inch for OO,  1 1/4 to 1 1/2 for S, 15/8 to 1 3/4 for O, 2 1/2 to 2 5/8 for  #1 (1/8 inch taller for 1/29) , 3 1/8 to 3 1/2 for 1/24 scale, and 3 3/4 to 3 7/8 for G.  Of course, you would need a wide printer to make houses over 1/64 - S scale.

If you can't use WMF, go to a free software site (for instance, www.tudogs.com) and find a free graphics conversion program.  Tudogs usually lists these within its multimedia listings.  WMF works in Windows drawing and desktop publishing programs, but not Paint programs.  You can find freeware draw programs from places like Tudogs.  WMF does not work for the Mac, so Mac users will have to find a graphics converter.  Sorry, folks, but these are free files and I already did a ton of work.. I don't have the extra webspace to carry another version of them.

Use the PC WhistleStop Guide listed under Scenery on this site for basics of using programs.  Most files are self-explanatory.  Some need a little figuring.

Be sure to download the roof file.  Print it on colored paper, such as dark green, brown, terra cotta or dark gray.  this makes for a good "roofing" to place atop your buildings.

Most of all, Enjoy!  And if you find these files useful, please email me to let me know.  allgauge@bigfoot.com
