Extending our O-72 layout into something truly spectacular
One of our club members had asked about the possibility of a 25' by 25' pike. Nice challenge! Taking the previous O-72 layout, it was extended in increments to produce a giant pike that allows multiple train operation, continuous running, switching operations, point-to-point work and more.
We extend to the right, to a full 25' long, and add an 8' by 8' extension on the lower left. |
A 17' by 4' extension makes for a great yard and / or passenger terminal |
An 8' by 8' on the lower left provides switching and more continuous running |
Extending left and right to 20' increases running and room for scenery. A good scenery job would thrive here. |
Now we extend to the full 25' This massive pike allows for continuous running, point-to-point and switching. It has grown to a super pike! |
