These plans make you 3' by 8' and 3' by 12' layouts that run two and more trains.
Not enough room for a 4' by 8'? O27 can be used to make a slimmer layout. In this case, we have developed a layout no wider than three feet. Have fun with these track plans. You get all the action in a thinner railway.
![]() Here's a loop of O27 track on a 3' by 8' bench |
![]() A single switch makes a spur. |
![]() Another switch and some track makes an inside loop |
![]() It only takes another pair of switches and track for two openings to the inside loop. |
![]() Two switches mae a reversing track. Of course, you will have to back some trains in to reverse them. |
![]() Another switch makes a spur. |
![]() We can add a switch to add a siding outside the loops. |
![]() Extending the table 4' , add a switch at a time to make sidings. Three switches shown here make three sidings. |
![]() Two more switches add two more sidings. A nice freight yard for using operating trackside accessories like barrel loaders and coal dumpers. |
![]() Now we add a small passing loop to the right with a pair of switches. |
