Step by step, this low budget layout becomes a masterpiece

This wide dogbone grows into a 4' by 12' layout with plenty of action. Growing in stages, it allows gradual expansions to fit the pace of your budget.

Two switches and track make a reversing track.

Another switch, a 45 degree crossover and a 90 degree crossover lead to a spur.

It takes one switch and some track to turn the spur into a loop.

Another switch and a 90 degree crossover plus track make a complete loop.

A switch on top makes us a siding.

Another switch on top makes a second one.

The switch at the bottom helps create a very long spur to the top.

Two switches and some half tracks join the spur to the top of the layout. This is one super layout for all kinds of operations.
