The Point to Point layout described in #12 can be extended sideways to 12 feet, and have a 4' by 4' expansion to any corner. Here we show how to expand it first to the left to a full 12", and then extend forward or back. The layouts pictured here are great for point-to-point operating, be it freights, transit, or any combination.
Adding 4' to the right, a switch and some track make a spur. |
Two more switches help make a reverse loop. |
A single switch makes for a second siding. |
Two well-placed switches give us another circle, making this a very interesting layout. Click here to see this layout extended to 16' by 4' |
An additional 4' by 4' added to the lower right allows us to make a longer spur with passing siding, plus a spur at the end of the line. |
Two switches close the loop and make a reversing track. |
An additional switch makes an a siding within the loop. |
Add one more switch to make one more spur. |
Here we add a 4' by 4' extension to the left lower corner. We extend both lines, connect them with a two switches. |
One more switch closes the gap, so that both tracks lead into one siding. Add one more switch to make an extra siding in the extended area. |
