Giant Point to Point System Layout on a Budget

Extend Layout #13 to make a massive point to point system

Layout #13 is a nice point-to-=point system which ought to please freight switching fans and folks who like trolley or interurban systems.  Here we extend the layout a few feet at a time, turning it into a giant system with immense switching possibilities.  Doing it step by step, you can eventually have a pike twice as long as when you started.

Here's our original 4' by 8' Layout from

We extend 4' to the left, making a 4' by 12'..  One switch and track makes a curved spur line.

Another switch turns our spur into a reverse loop.

Two switches allow for a pair of sidings.  You can add them one at a time, or both at once.

:

Alternative Plan: You could add one switch, making a siding peel from the loop.

A second switch up top makes a long, straight siding.

A third switch means an extra siding.

If we can extend this layout 4' further to the left, making it 16' wife, we extend the top left siding into a loop.  Add a switch for a second siding.

Another switch, another siding.  Fans of freight shunting and small drills will love the possibilities!

One more switch at the top and a little track turns a siding into a reverse loop.

Another top switch, another siding.  You can also add a switch inside the loop for a short siding.
