The Point to Point Layout for the Tight Budget

If you like this kind of operation, here's a layout you can love!

Some folks like direct point-to-point operations.  Here we show a very simple plan that allows for gradual enhancement.  You can do this most of this one switch at a time.  This plan is also a good one if you want to add an extension to an existing pike.

A basic point-to-point layout on a 4' by 8' board for O-31 track.  You don't need switches to get started!

One switch makes for an extra siding

Then, whenever you want, you can add a siding to the opposite side.

Two switches make a circle within the layout.  It brings to mind the round freight house the Jersey Central had in the Bronx.

You can easily add a spur within the curves, if you like.
