If you like this kind of operation, here's a layout you can love!
Some folks like direct point-to-point operations. Here we show a very simple plan that allows for gradual enhancement. You can do this most of this one switch at a time. This plan is also a good one if you want to add an extension to an existing pike.
A basic point-to-point layout on a 4' by 8' board for O-31 track. You don't need switches to get started! |
One switch makes for an extra siding |
Then, whenever you want, you can add a siding to the opposite side. |
Two switches make a circle within the layout. It brings to mind the round freight house the Jersey Central had in the Bronx. |
You can easily add a spur within the curves, if you like. |
