From Variation 2B, You can make these!
As you build your O-42 pike section by section, you might find a way to extend it further. This simple way of building gradually allows even the smallest budget to eventually build very large and complex layouts. It might take you a few years, but it can be done. These layouts show what can happen for you as your gradually extend your layout. Building on the piecemeal plan can possibly lead to these wee-outfitted pikes, with plenty of switching and sidings.
Adding a 4' by 4' leg to the top left of the layout allows this return loop. Add two switches and track to make the loop, then add sidings a switch at a time or all at once. |
If we add the 4' by 4' to the top right, a pair of switches and track add a reverse loop. Two more switches make our siding. Again, you can add them one at a time or all at once. |
A 4' by 5' extension has been appended to the bottom left. Two switches are needed to make the reverse loop. You can add another one as shown to make a small siding. |
One more switch puts a siding inside the loop. You can add another to make more sidings alongside it. |
A 4' by 4' extension is on the right bottom. Again, two switches and track make a reverse loop. You can add more switches one at a time to make the sidings inside the loop. |
