Following the appeal of its 54mm Infantry, Marx issued a 16-figure set in twelve poses. These were named "Marines." Like Marx's other 54mm figures, they were sculpted with extraordinary detail and animation. The Marines are distinct from the earlier Infantry. As a set, Marx/s Marines were posed for a beach landing. Most are advancing, but some are taking cover.
The molds are old and worn, as evidenced by the presence of flash on the set illustrated below.
