More and more arrive to see Santa at Freehold's old Pennsylvania Railroad Station - which is bnow a convenience store and bus station. It's amazing just how much trains add to holiday fun. And as model railroaders bring the joy of holiday trains by running our O Gauge trains at open houses and shows, so the Freehold Police and Conrail do it by bringing in the real thing into town.

Let me close with a final note. Putting on any holiday event is a lot of work. It is also loads of fun. There's something definitely good about bringing an extra portion of holiday joy. And to be frank, after being involved with two open houses (Ocean County Society of Model Railroaders - photos on their website) and one two-day train display (Ocean Grove - photos are on this website) all in a row, it's nice to stand back and see others do their holiday event. The Santa Claus Train is one of many things that makes living in Freehold extra special.
